Plan your weekend in Jackson area with some of these family friendly events this weekend

Summer is here! Live music, museums and more are on the schedule this summer weekend in the Jackson area for you and your family to consider.

The Belhaven Town Community Center will have local vendors and pop up shops for people to shop at this Saturday, and it's free to attend and peruse the offerings.

Conservation Educator Meaghan Huseman, will be teaching little ones about the evolution of plants and forests this Friday at the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science.

And, Food Truck Friday is back at Smith Park connecting good food and customers via different food trucks every first, third and fifth Friday.

K Camp at Hal & Mal's

Hip hop artist K Camp will perform some of his fan favorites live this Friday at Hal & Mal's.

Shaggy's Rez Fest Concert Series

Located on the Ross Barnett Reservoir, Shaggy's set the tone for an atmosphere overlooking the water while enjoying food, drinks and live music from Hunter & the Gators band.

Fun Friday: Permian Plants

BTC Market

Food Truck Friday in the Park

This event features different food trucks vendors at Smith Park in the heart of downtown Jackson.

  • When: Friday, July 7, and every first, third and fifth Friday in the month of July

  • Where: Smith Park, 302 Amite St. and West, Jackson

  • Admission: Free to attend. Food sold at various prices.

  • Time: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Lagers and Joggers

The public can come out to fertile ground beer for a 5k run around Belhaven area and afterwards, enjoy some beers at the brewery.

  • When: Thursday, July 13, and every Thursday throughout the month

  • Admission: Free.
