Pizza, pretzels, burritos and brisket: 26 new restaurants are now open in metro Phoenix

Corrections & clarifications: An earlier version of this article gave an incorrect location for Stetson Social. It is located at Peoria's 83rd Marketplace.

I don't know about you, but when it's over 110 degrees for an entire month, the last thing I want to do is stand in front of a hot stove and cook. It's times like this when I really appreciate all the wonderful chefs of metro Phoenix who are willing to do the cooking for me. And in the last month, we were lucky enough to see more than 20 new restaurants open across the Valley.

If you're specifically looking to cool off, you can do so with a fruity shaved ice drink from Frutilandia's new Phoenix location or try a monstrous milkshake from JoJo's ShakeBar in Scottsdale.

Mexican food seems to be a trend this summer, with new restaurants like Joe's Tacos, Marely's Mexican Kitchen and Pronto by Serrano's opening, along with the first U.S. location of Buqui Bichi, which is now pouring its signature Mexican beers in Chandler.

If you're in the West Valley, you could fill a whole day trying new restaurants, starting with breakfast from Boyer Cafe, lunch at Burros and Fries, dinner and a movie at the new Harkins Ciné Grill and evening drinks at The Stetson Social.

Here's a look at 26 new restaurants that opened recently in metro Phoenix.
