‘The Pit Stop’ for ‘Drag Race 16’ episode 6: Trixie and Crystal Methyd recap ‘Welcome to the DollHouse’

Each week on “The Pit Stop,” Trixie Mattel recaps the latest episode of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” season 16 alongside a guest host. Following Friday’s sixth episode, season 12 finalist Crystal Methyd stops by to “welcome the girls to the family” by “judging their awful outfits.” Watch the full episode above via the official RuPaul’s Drag Race channel on YouTube.

In their recap of the episode, Crystal confirms that she’s rooting for her Missouri sister Q and that after a few episodes she finally gets the “character” of Plane Jane and is hoping for her to get in a physical fight. Crystal likens Jane to her own drag family member Daya Betty, saying she “knows what she’s in there to do,” but admits that she doesn’t like “Burger Finger” and doesn’t have as clear of a point of view with her drag as other girls like Dawn and Plasma. Trixie agrees, saying all she knows about Jane is that she’s “confrontational.”

When it comes to the doll challenge, Crystal thought her strategy would be to design for the doll first in order to see what works on it and then fit her own look to that afterward. Neither of them think that it should be a necessary trade to know how to sew and people should confidently stick to what works for them like flipping for Mhi’ya Iman Le’Paige. After looking at the runway presentation, they did not understand or agree with Sapphira Cristál using her Immunity Potion on herself because there was clearly at least two girls who looked worse than her like Mhi’ya and Geneva Karr. They were not as high on the looks from Dawn and Jane as the judges were, but agreed that Q was the rightful winner.
