Pink’s Bizarre Advice for Hitting a High Note
The remaining Voice contestants got the chance to have Pink as their special adviser this week, and one piece of advice she passed along was especially special. Team Adam star Laith Al-Saadi was concerned that he couldn’t hit the high note Adam was trying to get him to hit, but Pink had a bizarre tip to get him there. When Laith said he couldn’t do it, the pop star assured him, “You can — you just have to clench your butt cheeks.”
Adam and Laith were both surprised by Pink’s odd advice, but she told them that she knows what she’s talking about since she learned the trick performing at the Oscars. When Pink sang “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” in 2014, she said there was a high note that she was unsure of, and since it was the Oscars, she had to be sure. So Pink said she learned the “butt-clencher” technique and “hit that note like a beast.”
