The CW’s Cult has a new member.

Supernatural vet Alona Tal has joined the Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage-helmed thriller as an actress who plays a cop on the series’ show-within-a-show (also titled Cult). Tol’s character is dragged into a real-life investigation when someone starts recreating the drama’s fictional crimes. Melrose Place‘s Jessica Lucas is also set to star.

• Rome‘s James Purefoy will join Kevin Bacon in Kevin Williamson’s buzzy pilot for Fox, Deadline reports. The thriller centers on a diabolical serial killer (Purefoy) who uses technology to create his own cult of murderers.

• Pilot season vet Andrea Anders (Mr. Sunshine, Better Off Ted) has been cast as one of two leads in NBC’s untitled Kari Lizer comedy about a pair of best friends who can’t live without each other, Deadline reports.

• Alfred Molina (Harry’s Law) is set to star as the Chief of Surgery in David E. Kelley’s TNT medical drama pilot Chelsea General, per Deadline.

• Dexter‘s Aimee Garcia will play a quick-witted intern in Jason Katims’ new NBC medical drama County, per Deadline. Parenthood‘s Jason Ritter has already been tapped to star.

• Bridesmaids’ Wendi McLendon-Covey will star opposite Goldie Hawn in HBO’s comedy pilot The Viagra Diaries, Deadline reports. The actress will play the therapist daughter of a mid-life crisis-suffering Hawn.
