This is Lighton’s first cinematic project. It’s an adaptation of the 2019 Fitzcarraldo Editions Novel Prize-winning book Box Hill by Adam Mars-Jones. The production is slated to begin this summer.
Picturehouse Entertainment will distribute the film in the UK, and September Films in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg. Several outlets reported in early May that Cornerstone would introduce the film for worldwide sales at this year’s Cannes. If everything goes well. Pillion can premiere in 2025 at the earliest.
