"She allows me to go out into the wild blue yonder and do what I do as a man, as an actor, [she] always has," he told Fox News of Keely's constant support

Pierce Brosnan is sharing the secret to his 22-year marriage to wife Keely Shaye Brosnan.

The Fast Charlie star, 70, said the couple — who wed in 2001 — has kept their romantic spark all these years, through both good times and bad.

"We like each other a lot. We love each other a lot," Pierce told Fox News. "And we've been down the road, and we've seen many, many hardships as families do, as we all do."

"But watching someone grow up with you and grow old with you is a very spiritual journey," he continued of Keely, whom he first met in 1994. "To watch each other change … whatever it may be, the hair, the waist. But it's the love in the heart."

The actor praised his wife for always being a "supportive" partner as he built his successful Hollywood career that often had him filming far from home.

"She allows me to go out into the wild blue yonder and do what I do as a man, as an actor, [she] always has," he told the outlet, also giving her credit for being a loving mom to their two sons, Dylan, 26, and Paris, 22.

"Keely is a journalist, a reporter. She's an artist in her own right. And as a woman, she has made a family for our sons," he said.

Keely also has been instrumental in encouraging Pierce to tap into his hidden passion for art. Last week, the Golden Globe nominee launched his first solo exhibit as a painter, called So Many Dreams, at Art Basel Miami. In an Instagram post celebrating the moment, he paid tribute to Keely, who co-curated the exhibit, writing, "You made it happen, my love."

"At this point in our life with the art, it’s exhilarating," Pierce told Fox News. "I've always been a painter, an artist at heart. So it's a work in progress, just like the acting. You just … keep showing up, and you refine yourself and you refine the work and the message you want to tell the people."
