"Picturing the West: Masterworks of American Landscape Photography" exhibit coming to the Longmont Museum

Jan. 18—A new exhibition, "Picturing the West: Masterworks of American Landscape Photography," will open Jan. 26 at the Longmont Museum, 400 Quail Road.

The collection of work delves into 19th Century American western landscapes and includes mammoth-plate photographs by Carleton Watkins, William Henry Jackson, Eadweard Muybridge as well as rarely seen works by female photographers and photographers of color from the same era.

The exhibition will also feature period cameras from the historic collections at the Longmont Museum, the Broomfield Depot Museum and History Colorado.

The exhibit will run through May 5.

Entry fees are $8 for adults and $5 for students, seniors and veterans.

Longmont Museum members and children ages 3 and under are free. For those with a qualifying EBT or SNAP card, admission is 25 cents.
