For the first time in several seasons, the Phoenix Suns TV broadcasts will have a sideline reporter.

Amanda Pflugrad will make her debut on Saturday, Oct. 28, when the Suns play the Utah Jazz. The Suns made the announcement on Thursday, Oct. 26.

Pflugrad joins play-by-play announcer Kevin Ray and analysts Eddie Johnson and Ann Meyers Drysdale on Suns’ broadcasts on Arizona's Family 3TV and Arizona's Family Sports, and streaming on Kiswe.

The team hasn’t had a sideline reporter since the 2019-20 season, and then only for home games. Pflugrad will work home and away games.

She worked for nine seasons as the Boston Celtics team reporter and the host of “Celtics Live.” Pflugrad also worked as a reporter for NBC Sports Boston, the ESPN/SEC Network, Pac 12 Networks, the New York Jets and the CBS Sports Network.

Pflugrad began her broadcasting career in Arizona

She started her career as a reporter and host for Fox Sports Arizona. Her family lives in Arizona, as well.

“I’m excited to return home to Arizona and cover the Suns, my hometown team,” Pflugrad said in a statement provided to The Arizona Republic by the Suns. “To be a part of a championship organization, re-join the Phoenix community and share the stories of our players and coaches is a dream come true.”

On her Instagram page, Pflugrad hinted at the change.

“Career update: It’s bittersweet to share, but I have accepted a new opportunity and won’t be back with the Celtics this season.” She went on to say, “Boston will always be a part of me and feel like home and for that I will always bleed green for my Celtics family. Stay tuned - I’m excited to share what is next for me very soon!”

Now we know.
