This weekend sees the release of “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter” which asserts that the 16th president of the United States of America governed a war-torn nation by day and killed vampires by night. Of course, the filmmakers have stretched some historical truths for dramatic effect. And that’s fine, but sometimes people can begin to mistake the drama with the facts. Though Abe Lincoln very rarely went on an axe-wielding rampage, he was freakishly good at wrestling (no, really). "He can outrun, outlift, outwrestle and throw down any man in Sangamon County," said a local of New Salem, Ill. after watching the future president trounce one opponent after another one day in 1831. In honor of “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter,” we’ve put together a gallery of some other movies that got the historical facts really, really wrong.
