Photography, art and fiction on slate of book signings in Palm Beach in February

Book lovers have many opportunities this month to meet and hear from authors in Palm Beach.

Here's a look at some of the book-signing events coming up in town.

"CBK: Carolyn Bessette Kennedy: A Life in Fashion" by Sunita Kumar Nair

4 to 6 p.m. Feb. 15 at Serenella, 313 1/2 Worth Ave., Suite C2, Palm Beach

Author Nair, a fashion creative director as well as writer, will discuss the "CBK," which pays homage to the subject's impact on the world of fashion and beauty. Key figures in the fashion industry share their memories of Kennedy, alongside photography from major artists who documented her life through the years.

Explore the photography collection of philanthropist and photographer Judy Glickman Lauder, with nearly 160 images from about 80 photographers included in this tome. The work includes photography from Berenice Abbott, Richard Avedon, Henri Cartier Bresson, Imogen Cunningham, Nan Goldin, Susan Meiselas, Gordon Parks, Sebastião Salgado, Weegee and James Van Der Zee.

"Extraordinary Art Experiences in America: An Insider’s Guide" by Linda Fischbach

5 to 6:30 p.m. Feb. 20 at The Palm Beach Book Store, 215 Royal Poinciana Way, Palm Beach

This book introduces a number of institutions, some of which began as private collections, as explained by art researcher Linda Fischbach. Herself the founder of Art Privée — an online directory of private art collections, museums, and foundations worldwide that are open to the public — Fischbach showcases a number of unexpected collections that can be visited in the U.S.

4:30 to 6 p.m. Feb. 23 at The Palm Beach Book Store, 215 Royal Poinciana Way, Palm Beach

Interior designer, hostess and world traveler Stokes will discuss her second book with the Rizzoli publishing house, where she presents tables set with items found during her travels to help inspire a reader's own tabletops. Among the destinations from which she draws items from her journeys are Japan, Colombia, Hungary and the U.K.

In her debut novel, Cuillo weaves together elements of wine, family and romance to tell a story of a New Yorker who suddenly finds herself the owner of a house, vineyard and bed-and-breakfast in Tuscany. She must decide between her old life in New York City, and a new life in the Tuscan countryside.
