(WJW) — Taylor Swift fans are speaking out after a photo of a baby laid out on a blanket at a recent Eras Tour concert went viral.

The incident took place Friday at the La Défense Arena in Paris, France, and commenters have been divided.

‘No exceptions’: Ohio pub raises minimum age to 30 on some days

“The lack of common sense is astonishing to me,” one person said on X, showing the photo of the child in the pit area of the concert.

Meanwhile, others have pointed out that European parenting styles are different from American ones, and rules for kids attending large events depend on the venue

According to the Paris venue’s website, it “doesn’t recommend bringing children under the age of 4, even if accompanied, particularly due to the high volume.” Strollers are also not allowed.

The @Swiftiesforerternity Instagrammer Olivia Levin told USA Today the incident brought up an “important conversation” about if young kids should be allowed at concerts.

“Sure, a few people in my comments and DMs said to me, ‘You’re not a mother or parent and can’t understand what we do for our kids, it’s my only opportunity to see a Taylor Swift concert.'” Levin said, but otherwise, she said most were concerned about the infant, even as they were wearing noise-canceling earphones (which can help protect little ears from the loud music).

Lobe Magazine recently reported on the uptick of parents bringing their children to music events, saying there’s “no clear indications against doing so” but suggested staying away from speakers, getting earmuffs and giving their kids breaks from the noise.
