As Daphne Bridgerton, Phoebe broke out as one of the show's stars from the very first season — which is why you might be surprised to hear that she'll be taking a backseat in the show's upcoming third season.

In fact, according to a recent interview she did with Screen Rant, it sounds like Phoebe might not appear in Bridgerton's third season at all.

During the interview, Phoebe was asked if there's any "exciting dynamics" for her character in the third season, and her response said it all.

"Sadly not in season 3," she replied. "Potentially in the future. But season 3, I'm just excited to watch as a viewer."

Now, there's a few ways to interpret what Phoebe's saying here, and one is that she does appear in the upcoming season of Bridgerton, but not in a way where Daphne has any real impact on the plot.

Or! It could be that Daphne doesn't appear in the upcoming season at all — which, although surprising, isn't totally without precedent in the Bridgerton world.

You'll remember Phoebe's season 1 costar, Regé-Jean Page, departed Bridgerton after its inaugural bow concluded. (He's still having to answer questions about it, too.)

All will be revealed when Bridgerton returns for its third season later this year, so get ready.
