Pharrell is providing a huge opportunity for one lucky person as he gears up to handle the music for another film. He recently put out a casting call for a female lead for the forthcoming unnamed movie.

The Virginia legend posted the casting call via X, formerly known as Twitter, on Tuesday (Dec. 12). “For a new musical motion picture being developed by Universal Pictures with original songs written by Pharrell Williams, Benj Pasek & Justin Paul,” the graphic read. Those interested in auditioning for the female lead must be able to portray a Black woman between the ages of 25-34 and be able to sing and dance.

To audition, they have to send in a recent photo, a video clip saying their full name, age, and location, as well as 30-45 seconds of them singing a song to atlantiscasting2023@nbcufilms.com. The graphic specifies that the performance must be “unaccompanied/a cappella” and requests that people do not submit any of their original music otherwise their application will be deleted and not considered for the role. Submissions are due by Jan. 1, 2024.

This forthcoming film will be added to Pharrell’s impressive string of contributions to films such as Hidden Figures, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Despicable Me, and Despicable Me 2. His co-collaborators, Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, have worked on La La Land, Dear Evan Hansen, and The Greatest Showman.

Pharrell’s involvement in this film will add to his impressive footprints in many different fields. This past year, he was named the men’s creative director for Louis Vuitton, taking the spot previously held by the late Virgil Abloh.

Skateboard P hit the ground running with his SS24 show in Paris back in June. Attendees were treated to performances of “Frontin'” and “I Just Wanna Love U” by the legendary producer and JAY-Z. He also enlisted Pusha T and No Malice of the Clipse as models for his debut show, which made headlines when an unreleased King Push record featured jabs at Jim Jones.
