‘Phantom Menace’ Actor Jake Lloyd Arrested After High-Speed Chase (Report)
Jake Lloyd, who appeared as a child playing young Anakin Skywalker in 1999’s “Star Wars” prequel “The Phantom Menace,” has been arrested in South Carolina after leading police on a high-speed car chase, according to TMZ.
Lloyd was reportedly driving in Charleston, S.C., when police attempted to pull him over. Lloyd then apparently led authorities on a chase that went on for miles and ended when Lloyd lost control of his vehicle and crashed into trees.
The 26-year-old was arrested for reckless driving, failure to stop, resisting arrest and driving without a license, reports TMZ. He is currently in custody.
As a child, Lloyd also appeared in “Jingle All the Way,” starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, and 2005’s “Madison,” starring Jim Caviezel.
In a recent interview, however, Lloyd revealed that he left the film business for good, saying his “Star Wars” fame ruined his childhood and made his life a “living hell.”
