Disney+ has found a new teen wunderkind to lead its female-centered Doogie Howser, M.D. reboot.

Peyton Elizabeth Lee will play the title role in Doogie Kameāloha, M.D., the 10-episode series about a 16-year-old mixed-race medical prodigy living and working in Hawaii. While Lahela "Doogie" Kameāloha is busy saving lives, her peers are still in high school. Viewers will also meet Lehela's family, namely her spitfire Irish mother, who's her supervisor at the hospital, and her "local boy" father, who's struggling to accept that his daughter is no longer his little girl.

Lehela is based on the Doogie Howser character played by Neil Patrick Harris in the popular '80s and '90s show, which was was created David E. Kelley and the late Steven Bochco. Bochco's wife, Dayna Bochco, and their son Jesse will executive-produce the new incarnation alongside writer-producer Kourtney Kang.
