Peter Weller to attend RoboCop screening at OCP Headquarters

Well, I’d buy this for a dollar.

It was announced Tuesday that Peter Weller will attend a 30th anniversary screening of RoboCop at City Hall in Dallas, Texas on Sept. 10. The exterior of the building doubled as the headquarters of the nefarious Omni Consumer Products (OCP) corporation in Paul Verhoeven’s 1987 science-fiction classic.

Weller will take part in a Q&A which will be live-streamed to Alamo Drafthouse theaters around the country where the film will also be screened. The event is presented by Birth.Movies.Death., SYFY, and Alamo Drafthouse and is part of the cinema chain’s 20th anniversary celebration. Tickets for the event in Dallas are available now. A list of theaters hosting the live stream can be found at the Birth.Movies.Death. website.

In RoboCop, Weller plays Detroit cop Alex Murphy, who, after he is seemingly killed in the line of duty, is turned into the titular, law-enforcing cyborg. The film’s supporting cast includes Nancy Allen, Ronny Cox, Kurtwood Smith, Miguel Ferrer, and Daniel O’Herlihy as OCP chairman “The Old Man.” Verhoeven’s film inspired two sequels and the 2015 remake which starred Joel Kinnaman in the title role.
