Peter O’Toole’s Last Film ‘Diamond Cartel’ Will Hit Theaters In 2017
EXCLUSIVE: Diamond Cartel, the action-adventure film that marks the final onscreen appearance of the late and great Peter O’Toole, will be released domestically in theaters in the first quarter of 2017 by Cleopatra Entertainment, which just acquired the North American, UK
and Australian distribution rights.
Diamond Cartel, an international Expendables-type of action film, has a cast of both Eastern and Western action stars and was completed in 2013. O’Toole’s died on December 14 of that year. The film also includes appearances by Michael Madsen, martial arts master Bolo Yeung (Enter the Dragon), Japanese TV and film veteran Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa (Kubo and the Two Strings) and Japanese-American 11-time professional kickboxing world champion Don “The Dragon” Wilson. It stars Armand Assante.
The film was directed by Salamat Mukhammed-Ali and filmed entirely in Kazakhstan. It was executive produced by Gamal Diab and produced by Dauren Mussa. The deal for film rights was brokered by Brian Perera and Tim Yasui at Cleopatra Entertainment with Sam Eisen at Shoreline Entertainment on behalf of the filmmakers.
