Pete Davidson Joins Eddie Murphy In Tim Story-Directed ‘The Pickup’ For Amazon MGM Studios

EXCLUSIVE: In a meet-up of Saturday Night Live alums, Pete Davidson has joined Eddie Murphy in The Pickup at Amazon MGM Studios. Tim Story is directing the comedy and producing through his The Story Company, alongside Davis Entertainment’s John Davis and John Fox, and Murphy and Charisse Hewitt-Webster via Eddie Murphy Productions.

Executive producers include The Story Company’s Vicky Mara Story, Davis Entertainment’s Jeremy Stein, and Kevin Burrows, Ross Fanger and Matt Mider.

Plot details are being kept under wraps, but the Matt Mider and Kevin Burrows-penned film is being described as a heist comedy.

Coming off strong reviews opposite Paul Dano in Dumb Money, Davidson is currently on his 2023 stand-up tour across the U.S. He recently starred opposite Joe Pesci and Edie Falco in the semi-autobiographical Peacock series Bupkis, which Davidson co-created, co-wrote and executive produced. He was a cast member on NBC’s Saturday Night Live from 2014-22, and returned to Studio 8H to host the 49th season premiere of SNL. Keke Palmer also stars.

Murphy just starred in and produced Candy Cane Lane, which premiered December 1 on Prime Video and became the most-watched Amazon MGM Studios-produced movie debut ever in the U.S. It’s also among the streamer’s top 10 worldwide film debuts in its first three days of release.
