Pete Davidson, Honey Bee Fest and more: Top 5 things to do this weekend in Jacksonville

We've got a big star in town doing two shows that sold out despite less than two weeks notice highlighting this weekend's entertainment options, but that's hardly the only thing going on. Bees, books and silent movies all get their turn in the spotlight this weekend, along with a couple of old friends stopping by on a record-setting concert tour.

Yup, things are really starting to heat up in Northeast Florida.

Former "Saturday Night Live" star and TMZ magnet Pete Davidson brings his standup show to the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall for two shows on Friday, and both are sold out. It's billed as an "and Friends" show, but there's no word on who those friends might be. The show is also strictly no-phones; they'll throw you out if they catch you using one.

Jacksonville is fortunate to still have a few great bookstores in an era of just-buy-it-online. One of those, the BookMark in Neptune Beach, is celebrating 33 years in business with a daylong party that promises "cake, bubbly, good conversation and prizes." Author Karen S. Chow will also be on hand, signing copies of her new middle-school book, "Miracle." 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday. Free.

Norman Studios in Arlington was once a hopping movie-production house but fell into disrepair over the years. The city now owns it and a nonprofit group has been busy getting the old girl ready for her closeup. The first phase of the project opens from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday with an exhibit focusing on the 1923 Norman Film, "Regeneration." Jacqueline Stewart of Turner Classic Movies will be on hand to make a few remarks. Free.

Jacksonville fans may recall Devon Allman and Donavon Frankenreiter onstage last fall for the Allman Family Revival. This time they’re trying to get into the Guinness Book of World Records by playing 50 shows in 50 states in 49 days. They'll be at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. $34.50-$40.
