‘Pet Sematary: Bloodlines’ Trailer Brings Stephen King’s Prequel Story to Life

The Pet Sematary prequel movie has released its official trailer.

Below is look at Pet Sematary: Bloodlines, the upcoming horror film that serves as the first prequel to Stephen King’s classic 1983 novel, which itself has previously been adapted to feature films (in 1989, a sequel in 1992, and remake of the original in 2019).

Bloodlines fleshes out the backstory of the character of Jud Crandall, whose early experience with a haunted burial ground was briefly related in King’s book, but hasn’t previously been depicted in detail onscreen.

The official description: “In 1969, a young Jud Crandall has dreams of leaving his hometown of Ludlow, Maine, behind, but soon discovers sinister secrets buried within and is forced to confront a dark family history that will forever keep him connected to Ludlow. Banding together, Jud and his childhood friends must fight an ancient evil that has gripped Ludlow since its founding, and once unearthed has the power to destroy everything in its path.”

The film is directed by Lindsey Anderson Beer from a script by Beer and Jeff Buhler.

Pet Sematary: Bloodlines stars Jackson White (Tell Me Lies,) Forrest Goodluck (The Revenant), Jack Mulhern (The Boys in the Boat), Henry Thomas (The Fall of the House of UsherGangs of New York), Natalie Alyn Lind (The Goldbergs), Isabella Star LaBlanc (True Detective: Night Country) and Samantha Mathis (Billions), with Pam Grier (Jackie Brown) and David Duchovny (Californication).

The film will have its world premiere at this year’s Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas. Pet Sematary: Bloodlines will premiere Friday, Oct. 6, on Paramount+.
