Peso Pluma’s ‘La Durango’ & More: Which Is Your Favorite New Latin Music Release This Week? Vote!

This week, Billboard’s New Music Latin roundup and playlist — curated by Billboard Latin and Billboard Español editors — features fresh new albums from artists such as Camilo, Joss Favela, Peso Pluma and Grupo Frontera, to name a few.

Mexican hitmaker Peso Pluma teamed up with Junior H and Eslabon Armado for “La Durango.” The three artists’ collaboration cements regional Mexican music’s commitment to growing the genre by joining forces. All three — Peso, Junior and Eslabon — are among the heavy hitters of this new música mexicana generation, and their collaborative effort only fuels the Mexican music global movement.

Speaking of the new generation of regional Mexican, Grupo Frontera has released its second studio album, titled Jugando A Que No Pasa Nada. The 12-track set thrives on Frontera’s signature cumbia, tejano and norteño melodies, while also experimenting with country on “Echándote de Menos.”

Meanwhile, Ryan Castro unleashed his debut album, which includes collabs with Arcángel, Yandel, Rich The Kid and Blessd. El Cantante del Ghetto is an 18-track set that represents Castro’s hustle from busking in the streets of Medellín to setting his eyes on global domination.

Other new releases this week include Joss Favela’s Mis Compas Vol. 1 and Camilo’s EP tres.

Last week, music fans voted for Danny Ocean’s Reflexa as their favorite music release of that week. The set garnered nearly 55% of the votes, beating out other new albums that also dropped that week, including Kany García’s GARCÍA, Fonseca’s Tropicalia and Eladio Carrión’s Porque Puedo, to name a few.
