Peso Pluma concert tour thrills fans in El Paso

Peso Pluma, the Mexican corrido singer turned international sensation, kicked off two nights at the El Paso County Coliseum this week, with the first falling on the fourth anniversary of the deadly Walmart mass shooting on Aug. 3, 2019.

Pluma began writing songs in his diary and learning to play the guitar at age 15 by watching YouTube videos. Those early songs comprised two live albums, but 2023's "El Belicon" skyrocketed him to fame.

His 2023 collaboration with Eslabon Armado, "Ella Baila Sola," debuted at No. 1 on Latin Streaming Songs and Mexico Songs after first appearing on TikTok. The song was streamed 16 million times during its first week in the United States.

From El Paso, the tour moves to Denver, Colorado for two nights before returning to Texas for shows in Sugarland and Irving before moving to Tulsa, Oklahoma on Aug. 13. From there, the tour will make stops in Michigan, New York, Virginia, Pennsylvania and more.

  • Sept. 17: Oak Mountain Amphitheatre in Pelham, Alabama;

  • Sept. 28: Reno Events Center in Reno, Nevada;

  • Sept. 30: North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre in Chula Vista, California.
