Pop open the champagne! On Thursday, Peso Pluma surprised his fans with one final song for 2023, “Rompe La Dompe,” concluding a highly successful breakthrough year.

“Último corrido del año,” the singer teased on Instagram earlier on Thursday, posting a snippet of the track.

The chilled-back corrido — whose title translates to “open up the Dom Pe,” referencing Dom Pérignon champagne — hears Pluma alongside Óscar Maydon and Junior H singing about the start of a big party as they try to forget about a former lover. “Red eyes and I caress your leg,” sings Peso. “I feel like I’m in the stars.”

Peso and Junior previously referenced the champagne brand on Génesis standout “Lady Gaga,” where the pair namedrop the “Bad Romance” star’s collaboration with Dom Pérignon. “Rompe la Dompe” also marks Peso’s first collaboration with rising star Maydon, who dropped his album Distorsión on Friday.

Maydon had been teasing the song for some time and confirmed he’d drop it if his album received 100 million streams, according to Agushto Papá.

In 2023, Peso Pluma released his breakthrough album Génesis over the summer after finding history-making success for his collaborations “Ella Baila Sola” with Eslabón Armado, “La Bebé Remix” with Yng Lvcas, and “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 55” with Argentine producer Bizarrap.

The singer was selected by Bad Bunny as one of Rolling Stone‘s Future 25 artists earlier this year, and his Eslabón collab was named the No. 1 song of 2023 by Rolling Stone. He also headlined his first-ever tour this year, stopping by arenas across the United States and Mexico City’s Foro Sol stadium.

“To be recognized as a Mexican artist across the globe is something big — that alone makes me proud, and it’s not just me here doing this,” he told Rolling Stone in October. “There’s a huge team and a family behind me, and we’ve scaled these heights to achieve what we’re doing.”

The singer also connected with his biggest inspirations in hip-hop, including A$AP Rocky — with whom he recorded a still-unreleased song — and Travis Scott. “He congratulated me and he told me, ‘Always be yourself,’” he told Rolling Stone about meeting Scott. “I’ll never forget that. He said, ‘Be how you are. Don’t change, because that’s what’s bringing the success.’ He said, ‘I was real’ and I’ll never forget it.”

“Rompe La Dompe” marks the last of a string of collaborations by Pluma to end the year. He joined Anitta on “Bellakeo,” Milo J on “Una Bala,” and Arcángel on “La Chamba.” As for Junior H, he released his album $ad Boyz 4 Life II and joined Marca Registrada on “Mafioso” in October.
