Perrie can look back at her old relationship with a smile. On Friday, the former Little Mix member released the music video for her debut solo single “Forget About Us,” the sweet track co-written with Ed Sheeran, David Hodges, and Steve Solomon.

“I don’t want you ever to forget about us/In the front seat listening to songs that made you think about me/Bonfire smoke on your hoodie/That I stole from your flat,” she sings on the track. “No I never gave it back but/I don’t want you ever to forget about us.”

The video sees Perrie singing the reminiscent lyrics while lounging by the pool as she asks her ex to always remember what they had. She later struts through her house and takes off in her jeep to the beach.

“I look back on past relationships and do think happily about those times,” Perrie previously said of the song. “Do I want to be there now? No. It didn’t work out that way and if it was supposed to be it would have happened. Relationships have been a huge part of my life and they’ve made me who I am now. I think it’s a nice sentiment to be honest about and it’s super relatable.”

Perrie is the latest member of Little Mix to launch her solo career after the group — at the time, a trio, following the departure of Jesy Nelson the year prior —announced their hiatus in December 2021.

Leigh-Anne has released three R&B and afrobeats-leaning songs in the last year, including her recent single “Stealin’ Love,” the Ayra Starr featuring “My Love,” and “Don’t Say Love.” Nelson has two singles. And Jade Thirlwall has co-written songs for K-pop star Nayeon and was recently spotted filming her debut music video.
