People Are Sharing The Most Boring Movies They've Ever Seen, And There Are Some Hot, Hot Takes On This List
I think it's safe to assume that all of us at least once in our lives have sat down to watch a movie we were excited to see, only to be completely underwhelmed and bored with it.

And recently, Reddit user u/No-Day-2168 was curious about just that when they asked, "What’s the most boring movie you’ve ever seen?"
20th Century Fox
Well, apparently, people have seen a lot of boring movies, as the thread quickly went viral with over 20,000 comments. Here are some of the top and best comments:
🚨Also, there are minor spoilers ahead.🚨
1."Transformers: The Last Knight. I fell asleep during one of the action scenes."
"It's amazing how boring and generic they could make giant robots fighting. I wouldn't have thought it was possible until I saw it with my own drooping eyes."
2."Tall Girl 2 — it was beyond the point of just being a bad movie."
"Is that '2' a typo? 'Cause there's no way that movie got a sequel. I absolutely hated it so much."
3."For some reason, I watched Battlefield Earth in the theater. I woke up at the ending credits."

"My buddy went with me to see it, and he said every time he woke up, John Travolta was lifting someone up by their neck."
4."The Happening, a movie where people ran away from nothing for two hours."
"I was so looking forward to this movie, and to call it a letdown would be a vast understatement. Someone called me after it ended, and the tone was immediately sour, prompting my explanation, 'I’m not mad at you, I’m mad at M. Night Shyamalan.'"

5."Eight-year-old me watched March of the Penguins not knowing it was a doc."
"They sure advertised it as though it weren’t a documentary. My whole family was going to watch it with me, but then ditched to watch a different movie. I was the only one to stick with it out of stubbornness. 🤣"
6."Eternals felt like a chore to watch…until I fell asleep in the theater."
"It just kept going and going. And still made no sense. I don’t remember a single character and don’t remember anything about them."
7."If I commit to seeing a movie in a theater, I’m in it till the credits scroll. Even if the movie is 'meh,' I enjoy the experience of being out with a friend and seeing a film on the big screen that others spent portions of their own lives to put together. I have never been so close to walking out of a film as I was watching Lady in the Water."
"My ass actually rose out of the seat and hovered for a second before I gritted my teeth and swore that the movie wasn’t going to beat me. It tried, valiantly and desperately, and at every turn, it tried to kill me with absolute boredom and frustration. In the end I made it, but to this day, it’s been the only one to come that close to victory."
8."La La Land. The only reason I hung around till the end was because there was a disabled guy in a wheelchair blocking my row. He was loving it and I didn’t want to disturb him. But I was in physical pain waiting for that damn film to end."
9."Jurassic World Dominion — it was the first time I fell asleep in the theater."

"I fell asleep during it, so my wife and I decided to stop and finish it later. We never did."
10."Robin Hood (2010). Hope you like mud and taxes, because that’s all this film has."
11."Cats. I fully believe that every actor in that movie is in it because of some wide-ranging blackmail scheme."
12."Downsizing. Just an absolutely horrible movie."
"Downsizing is probably the most disappointing/upset I’ve ever been with a movie. It was marketed as a quirky comedy about a guy who shrinks, and I was very excited to see it. It turned out to be horrible, not a comedy at all, and to have very little to do with Matt Damon shrinking."
13."Fifty Shades of Grey. I was in university when the movie came out. A group of us went to see it, expecting a 'so bad, it's good' trash flick. Nope! This movie takes itself so seriously, it's just dull and boring."
"This movie was beautiful like perfume ads. Nice costumes, intense stares, beautiful places...and very bad dialogue and scenarios like perfume ads."
14."Ad Astra. Brad Pitt looking sad in space. That's it. That's the movie."
"It alternated between nothing happening and things happening that made no sense at all. It's as if they tested it and audiences found it too boring, so they tossed in a random scene with moon pirates or space monkeys every so often to try and punch it up."

15."Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Everyone was talking about the ending, and I just laughed along, knowing full well...until I fell asleep after 30 minutes."
—u/Wuirinus84
16."Tree of Life. Just three hours of stock footage."
"If Tree of Life isn’t your answer to this question, I simply assume you haven’t seen it. I’ve been asked why I think it’s so bad, and I find I can’t explain it. I can’t even tell you what it’s about, yet I vividly remember watching it. In fact, I remember thinking, Clearly, this will come together. I’d better pay attention so I don’t miss something, and when it never did, I felt lost and confused."
17."Australia was one long, boring movie."
—u/method_rap
"And pointless. You forgot pointless.
"I remember all the hype around it before it was released, but once it hit theaters, everyone was like, 'Meh.' A friend of mine got a hold of a pirated copy, and I remember watching it thinking, What the hell is the point of this movie? And the tone — like, it's supposed to be a drama, but there's just random goofy shit thrown in because it's Baz Luhrmann and he's just so fuckin' wacky.
"Sorry, for some reason the memory of that movie has made me irrationally angry."
18."Most recently, it was The Matrix Resurrections. That was a complete snorefest. I fell asleep watching it and didn't even attempt to watch it again."
19."As a fan of Quentin Tarantino, I have to say that Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood was pretty boring. I fell asleep twice trying to watch it. The ending was fun, and the acting from Leo DiCaprio and especially Brad Pitt was very good, but it couldn't save the movie for me. There are others more boring than this, but I expected more of my man Quentin."
20."Twilight. I was managing a movie theater when it came out. I never read the books, but I popped my head in once in a while, and it looked OK. My sister was a big fan of the books, so I organized a private viewing for her and her friends one morning before we opened. I tried watching it with them, but it was sooooo boring."
"I actually left to do some work when I wasn't on the clock instead of watching this movie. Like, I actually chose to do WORK on my free time over watching this movie. I don't get it, but my sister loved it, so it all worked out."
And finally...
21."To me, Titanic is extremely boring. The most exciting part of the movie is the boat sinking."
"Same for me. I can never get past the first few minutes and I'm off doing something else while the movie plays as background noise."
