People Rescued in Yuzhou as Flooding Leaves 12 Dead in China

People were seen being rescued in footage filmed on July 20 according to fire officials, as extreme flooding in parts of China left 12 people dead.

This footage, filmed near Yuzhou City, China, according to the local fire service, shows people being evacuated from a village that had been surrounded by floodwater. “Up to now, more than 50 villagers have been successfully transferred”, Henan Fire service said.

Later footage shows a tricycle being rescued after the driver called for help, the service said.

In Zhengzhou, 40 miles north of Yuzhou, about 100,000 people had been evacuated as a result of the flooding, media reported. Credit: Xuchang Fire via Storyful
