People feel sorry for Melania Trump on Valentine's Day after Stormy Daniels news

Happy Valentine’s Day — to everyone except Melania Trump. While the rest of the world is celebrating love, the First Lady has taken a backseat today to her husband’s alleged mistress, Stormy Daniels.

There have long been rumors of Donald Trump’s affair with the former porn star, and that Daniels was paid a hefty sum for her silence during the 2016 election. The affair, which allegedly took place in 2006, right after Melania Trump gave birth to Barron, has not been confirmed; the White House staunchly denies the reports and Daniels has given conflicting accounts. But today, Trump’s lawyer Michael Cohen confirmed that Daniels was indeed paid $130,000 to keep quiet — and the money came from his personal account.

Twitter quickly picked up on the irony that the pay-off news broke on what is supposed to be the most romantic day of the year, and they had some thoughts. Many felt sorry for the First Lady.

Others, however, took the news as an opportunity to poke fun at the president.

Donald Trump and his wife have remained silent on the most recent news, although Melania did tweet about Valentine’s Day. She expressed excitement in celebrating the holiday outside of the White House, away from her husband.
