Penske Media Hires Thomas Ferguson As VP Product Licensing

Penske Media Corporation said Thursday that it has hired Thomas Ferguson as its new Vice President of Product Licensing. In this role, he will lead the team and develop new licensing extensions and partnerships to expand consumer touchpoints across PMC’s portfolio of brands that includes Deadline.

Ferguson joins a team that includes Laura Ongaro, Associate Vice President, Licensing & Brand Partnerships, PMC, and Noelle Hickey, Senior Manager, DTC Ecommerce Marketing, PMC. He is based in Los Angeles and reports to PMC Chief Digital Officer Craig Perreault.

“Thomas brings extensive experience to the branded consumer products and licensing team,” said Perreault. “I look forward to watching the growth and evolution of PMC’s licensed products under Thomas’ stewardship. We are thrilled to have him on board.”

Ferguson founded the brand development firm Backstory, consulting on the design, development and strategic licensing programs for brands, artists and experts. In 2019, he was named as one of the “40 under 40” by License Global Magazine while serving as VP Licensing Partnerships at Endemol Shine North America, where he was responsible for multimillion-dollar licensing partnerships across consumer products, publishing, e-commerce, immersive experiences and live events for TV shows such as Black Mirror, MasterChef and MasterChef Junior.

Before joining Endemol Shine North America, Ferguson was head consulting designer for creative agency Focus Group West, working with brands including John Varvatos, Carolina Herrera and BCBG. He also consulted on Disney’s first e-commerce sales endeavor for D23.
