Pensacon HalloweenFest is returning for two days of family-friendly, Halloween-themed fun at Splash City Adventures on Oct. 7-8.

HalloweenFest combines the pop-culture fun of Pensacon with traditional Halloween celebrations for two full days of spooky pop-culture fun in an outdoor, convention-style atmosphere. The weekend will feature vendors, live entertainment, celebrity guests, artists, trick-or-treating and other fun in a safe environment.

Costumes are encouraged, and each day will include a costume contest, with adults competing on Saturday and children on Sunday. There is a nominal fee to compete in the adult contest.

Looking back: Pensacon 2023 was 'most successful year ever.' Here's what you missed:

“All of us at Pensacon love Halloween, so doing HalloweenFest has been very special to all of us," said Pensacon Marketing and Media Director Julio Diaz. "We love to see all of the families come out and enjoy the Splash City Adventures park and trick-or-treating amongst our unique vendors. We are putting together a great program of local music and cultural performances throughout the weekend, and we especially look forward to working with Summer Jimmerson and the team at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northwest Florida to raise money for their important efforts in our community. We have some incredible, unique auction items available including autographed items and original art, so come prepared to shop, bid and have a blast!”

Pensacon HalloweenFest will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the fan-favorite film “Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island” with the voice of Scooby himself, Scott Innes, as one of this year’s celebrity guests. Scott also voiced Shaggy and Scrappy-Doo in the film. Scott will be bringing along Scooby’s famous Mystery Machine for photo opportunities.

Also in attendance will be actor Alex Hyde-White, who appeared as the younger Henry Jones Sr. in “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade” and as Marvel superhero Mr. Fantastic in Roger Corman’s adaptation of “The Fantastic Four.” Innes and Hyde-White will be on hand to meet fans and, for a fee, sign autographs and pose for photos.

“We are very excited to welcome Scott Innes and celebrate the 25th anniversary of the fan-favorite ‘Zombie Island’ movie," Diaz said. "Fans are going to love getting to know this charming actor and hearing about his incredible career. Likewise, Alex Hyde-White is an incredibly guy with amazing stories from his decades in Hollywood. We know everyone will love getting to know him.”

Children in costumes will receive a free Halloween bag, and are encouraged to trick-or-treat with the vendors set up across HalloweenFest.

In addition to the free HalloweenFest festivities, Splash City Adventures’ amusement park will be in full swing, featuring go-karts, amusement rides, the Pirate Cove Arcade, miniature golf, Laser Tag and more. Special HalloweenFest pricing for Splash City attractions will be in effect. Splash City Adventures is located at 6709 Pensacola Blvd.

Pensacon will once again support the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northwest Florida with a weekend-long, raffle-style auction during HalloweenFest.
