Pensacola Mardi Gras officially kicks off this week. Here's what's on tap for 2024

Christmas has wrapped up and the new year's bell has rung, but the celebrations aren't stopping just yet.

Pensacola Mardi Gras events officially kickoff on Friday with a blessing of the parade fleet by the royal procession and an after-party at Seville Quarter.

Krewe of Priscus Mardi Gras Ball

  • When: 7 p.m. Jan. 5

  • Where: Court of De Luna Event Space, 116 E. Gonzalez St.

Krewe of Priscus Mardi Gras Ball will be held at the Court of De Luna Event Space on Friday. With live music by The Molly Ringwalds, '80s prom vibes and an electric atmosphere, this Mardi Gras Ball promises to be a night to remember. There will be an open bar, delicious eats and more. Publix Pensacola Mardi Gras Kickoff Celebration

  • When: 6 p.m. Jan. 6

  • Where: Seville Quarter, 130 E. Government St.

The 2024 Pensacola Mardi Gras season marks the 13th year for the official Pensacola Mardi Gras 12th Night Celebration. The night will begin inside Seville Quarter at 5 p.m. and will feature a blessing of the parade fleet by the royal procession. The party will continue at Seville after the procession until 11 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.

Mardi Gras scavenger hunt

  • When: 6:30 p.m. Jan. 12

  • Where: The 5 Barrel, 121 S. Palafox St.

Teams of four to five people will race against time to solve riddles and complete dares (with proof) in this Mardi Gras themed Scavenger Hunt. Follow the rules, complete the tasks and take lots of pictures. The winning team's charity of choice will receive all of the proceeds. Entry is $35 per person.

Pirates of Lost Treasure Ball

  • When: 6:30-11 p.m. Jan. 13

  • Where: Holiday Inn Beach Resort, 14 Via De Luna Drive, Pensacola Beach

The Pirates of Lost Treasure Ball will hold its moonlight masquerade-themed ball at the Holiday Inn Beach Resort. Tickets start at $75.

Krewe of St. Patrick annual Mardi Gras Ball

  • When: 7-11 p.m. Jan. 13

  • Where: Whiskey Joe’s, second floor, 400 Quietwater Beach Road, Suite 13, Pensacola Beach

The Krewe of St. Patrick will hold its 13th annual Shamrock-N-Roll Ball on Jan. 13. This disco-themed party includes an open bar from 7-10 p.m. (cash bar after), heavy hors d’oeuvres served all night, live DJ, silent auction and more. Tickets are $85; attendees must be 21 or older to attend.

The Krewe of Seville Ball will take place on Jan. 13 at the Grotto Hall. The event will include heavy appetizers, an open bar and music provided by SheAndTheIts. Dress code is formal floor-length gowns and tuxedos. Tickets start at $65.

Krewe of Blues 13th annual Pin and Bead Festival and Diaper Drive

Join the Krewe of Blues for its annual Pin and Bead Festival and Diaper Drive. This is a chance to donate to charity, swap pins and beads and celebrate Mardi Gras.

Ice Flyers — Mardi Gras Night

28th annual Cordova Mall Ball

  • When: 8 p.m. Jan. 20

  • Where: Cordova Mall, 5100 N. Ninth Ave.

Every year the community comes together for a night of revelry and fun at the community’s largest Mardi Gras Ball. This year, Pensacola Mardi Gras Foundation and Ascension Sacred Heart Foundation have joined forces to expand Cordova Mall Ball with a portion of proceeds continuing to benefit Studer Family Children’s Hospital at Ascension Sacred Heart.

Dance the night away to live entertainment with three bands and parade through the mall with a second line band and aerial performers who light up the event with stunning LED optics. Graze along the halls for tastes of Mardi Gras with food samplings from area restaurants, enjoy a specialty cocktail from one of the signature bars, escape to the French Market for fortune telling and fun, visit the Silent Auction with trips, art, jewelry and more.

2024 Mystic Order of Revelry Carnival Mardi Gras Masquerade Ball

The Revelers of Mystic Order of Revelry is holding its annual ball on Jan. 20. It will feature a cocktail hour, coronation, dinner and a ball. There will be live music by The Six Piece Suit. Tickets start at $75. Attire is formal black tie.

Pensacola Krewe of Jesters Ball

2024 Mardi Gras Flotilla

  • When: 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Jan. 20

  • Where: Holiday Harbor, Perdido Key

Join the Pirates of Lost Treasure for its annual flotilla boat parade. The fleet will depart the Holiday Harbor Marina at 10:45 a.m., passing by the Sunset Grille before heading east down the Intracoastal Waterway. The fleet will continue past the Oyster Bar heading further east past the docks of the State Park before turning around. It will continue west along the docks of the ICW and Galvez Boat Ramp, eventually ending at the Flora-Bama for the victory party.

Kids and Kritter’s Parade

  • When: 1:30-5 p.m. Jan. 20

  • Where: Casino Beach at Pensacola Beach

Join in a special Mardi Gras walking procession featuring kids and pets. Wear a costume, bring beads to throw and participate in contests for the best-dressed pet and mini float.

Pensacola Mardi Gras Mambo

South Florida rapper Flo Rida will be headlining the inaugural Pensacola Mardi Gras Mambo event on Jan. 26. Mardi Gras Mambo is a dance-and-music celebration that will include other performances from the DeLuna Brass Band, the New Orleans Ramblers and Mr. Big & the Rhythm Sisters. Tickets start at $31.

Krewe of Warriors Ball

Annual Krewe of Avant Garde Masquerade Mardi Gras Ball

  • When: 6 p.m. Jan. 26

  • Where: Pensacola Yacht Club, 1897 Cypress St.

Save the date and make plans to attend the Krewe of Avant Garde's signature event. The Masquerade Mardi Gras Ball to be held on Jan. 26 at PYC at 6 p.m. Avant Garde member cost is free, guest fee is $70 per person. This is a formal dress event, black tie (optional). Enjoy an evening of socialization, dinner, cash bar, live music by Dr. Breeze, the Royal Court Presentation and best mask contest.

Milton Mardi Gras Parade

  • When: 5-9 p.m. Jan. 27

  • Where: Downtown Milton

The Emerald Coast Krewe of Airship Pirates invite you to attend the Milton Mardi Gras parade on Jan. 27. This year’s route will follow last year’s route, with the addition of floats heading east on Berryhill Road, south on Willing Street, crossing over U.S. Highway 90 and ending with the Inaugural after-party at Jernigan’s Landing.

Navarre Mardi Gras Parade

  • When: 1-3 p.m. Feb. 3

  • Where: Navarre Beach

The Krewe of Jesters is hosting the Navarre Mardi Gras Parade on Feb. 3. The theme is dancing through the decades. This parade attracts around 30,000 spectators from the surrounding area and features participants from krewes located throughout the Gulf Coast.

Krewe of Lafitte Illuminated Parade

  • When: 7:30 p.m. Feb. 9

  • Where: Downtown Pensacola

What makes this parade special is that, as the name implies, it’s hosted at night, allowing the floats to be lit up. Parade floats are already impressive, but they look even cooler when they’re completely lit up.

This is a family-friendly event that starts at 7:30 p.m. and goes on for a few hours. You can catch candy, beads, toys, stuffed animals, bouncy balls, local swag and, of course, Moon Pies.

Publix Pensacola Grand Mardi Gras Parade

  • When: 2 p.m., Feb. 10

  • Where: Garden and Palafox streets, Downtown Pensacola

Join Pensacola Mardi Gras for one of the city’s biggest parades of the year. The Pensacola Grand Mardi Gras Parade features local krewes, organizations and companies with more than 6,000 participants and drawing in over 100,000 spectators. The parade takes place on Palafox and Garden Streets in historic downtown Pensacola. The Parade starts at 2 p.m. and continues until around 6 p.m.

Fourth annual Mardi Gras Ball

  • When: 8 p.m. Feb. 10

  • Where: Hadji Shrine, 800 W. Nine Mile Road

Indulge in the splendor and excitement of the fourth annual Mardi Gras Ball. Get ready for a night of dazzling charm, vibrant colors and non-stop dancing with music from a live band and DJ. The Pensacola Mardi Gras Ball is a formal event that requires full-length gowns and tuxedos. Tickets start at $60.

Krewe of Wrecks Parade

  • When: 2 p.m. Feb. 11

  • Where: Pensacola Beach

The Krewe of Wrecks Parade is the last parade of the season and it’s held on Pensacola Beach. This is a smaller parade that first happened in 1980. The parade starts off at Avenida 10 and Via DeLuna, runs west and then disbands at the Gulfside Pavilion in the Casino Beach parking lot. After-parties are aplenty after the parade where judges will award trophies.

Publix Fat Tuesday Celebration

  • When: 11 a.m. Feb. 13

  • Where: Seville Quarter, 130 E. Government St.

Pensacola Mardi Gras and Seville Quarter are teaming up with Mardi Gras krewes for a French Quarter Fat Tuesday celebration that will include a crawfish boil, cajun food trucks, king cake, beignets, dancing and more.

Things kick off at 11 a.m. with a jazz royalty brunch featuring a special Mardi Gras menu followed by a complete French Quarter takeover of Seville Quarter at 2 p.m. and finally ending with the coronation ceremony of the new king and queen priscus for Mardi Gras 2024.
