Saquon Barkley will never waste an opportunity to prove his athleticism. Not even during a three-hour-plus weather day during No. 7 Penn State’s trip to No. 24 Michigan State.

While the two teams were holed up in their locker rooms, the Nittany Lions decided to pass the time the only way they knew how: with a bag of grapes and a relentless drive from Barkley to catch as many as he could in his mouth.

Look at Barkley’s stance. Knees bent, eyes open, head up. He looks like Mike Trout patrolling outfield. A true pro. Credit also goes to running back Mark Allen for the perfect throws. That’s the type of teamwork we can all aspire to.

Barkley was off to a slow start in East Lansing before the rain halted play, rushing six times for no gain. Maybe this athletic display in the locker room will get his juices flowing.

The delay officially lasted three hours and 23 minutes. Penn State and Michigan State were tied at 14 at the end of the first half.
