Boas and bunny ears are not the first words that come to mind when you think of Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem, but, bam!, here you go.

The typically under-the-radar couple let loose at a U2 concert in their native Spain last weekend. When Bono and the boys played “Mysterious Ways” for the crowd in Barcelona on Oct. 10, a mystery guest — that would be Bardem, hiding out under a blue glittery cowboy hat and an equally as vibrant feather boa — came out and started doing some stripper moves.

The silliness included the Oscar winner, 46, flirtatiously dancing up against the frontman and rubbing his nipples. Bardem, who was not identified to the audience, then did more of the same with The Edge.

Just when you start to think, well, this is kind of bizarre, Bardem’s wife of five years, fellow Academy Award winner Penélope, 41, appeared in a long blond wig, bunny ears, and bow tie pretending to catch her husband doing something naughty.

“I think your missus wants you to go,” Bono said, trying to push Bardem off stage. But Bardem insisted on photos, snapped by Cruz, with all four members of the band. “Then you promise you’ll leave?” Bono asked.

When Bardem finally left, Cruz stuck around and it was her turn for some hijinks. At first, she was just recording the Irish band’s performance with an iPhone while they sang “Desire.” Though it was a little flirty too. At one point Bono was on the floor and the Playmate stood over him recording.

At the end of the song, Bono got the Spanish beauty — whom he has known for years — to reveal her name. After she purred “Penélope,” in her accent, he turned to the crowd and said, “Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem,” and the audience went wild.

Cruz and Bardem, who have two children, continued the silliness backstage where they posed in their costumes for a photo which ended up on the band’s Instagram. They were clearly having a good time.

The whole thing was delightfully silly and a side of we often don’t get to see. And, if nothing else, they now have great costumes they can recycle on Halloween.
