Peloton pauses Diddy’s music from the platform

More fallout from the video of Sean “Diddy” Combs assaulting his ex-girlfriend Cassandra “Cassie” Ventura at a Los Angeles area hotel in 2016.
The global fitness company Peloton is taking action and will not be using any of Combs’ music in classes moving forward.
The company issued a statement to its private member Facebook page after members called for Diddy’s music to be removed.
“Thank you for sharing your concerns. We take this issue very seriously and can confirm Peloton has paused the use of Sean Combs’ music, as well as removed the Bad Boy Entertainment Artist Series, on our platform,” the company said.
“This means our Instructors are no longer using his music in any newly produced classes. Again, thank you for sharing your concerns and thank you for being a Member of our Peloton community.”
The unofficial Peloton website, Pelobuddy, noted that the brand did something similar back in 2022 in regards to rapper Ye, formerly known as Kanye West. Following his antisemitic rhetoric, Peloton said they would no longer play his music in any new classes. The site said the brand later purged all of the artist’s music from the platform.
It’s not known if Peloton will later remove all of the “It’s All About the Benjamins” singer’s music completely.
Days ago, CNN released surveillance video from eight years ago showing Combs brutally assaulting Ventura at the now-closed InterContinental Hotel in Century City.
The Bad Boy Entertainment founder issued an apology on Sunday.
“It’s so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life. Sometimes you gotta do that,” Combs begins in a brief recording shared on Instagram. “I was ****ed up … I hit rock bottom. But I make no excuses. My behavior on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions.”
Ventura’s attorney Meredith Firetog issued a statement, which was obtained by MSNBC, following Combs’ post on the matter.
Firetog said that Combs’ made it “more about himself than the many people he has hurt.”
“When Cassie and multiple other women came forward, he denied everything and suggested that his victims were looking for a payday,” Firetog said. “That he was only compelled to ‘apologize’ once his repeated denials were proven false shows his pathetic desperation, and no one will be swayed by his disingenuous words.”
