Peek Inside Ronald and Nancy Reagan’s Former Pacific Palisades Home

Before Ronald and Nancy Reagan moved into the White House, they lived in a 12,000-square-foot house in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles. Now, the newly remodeled abode is on the market for $33 million. The Insider With Yahoo got an exclusive look inside the mansion on a hill and some of the surviving features from the original home.

“When we bought this house it was virtually untouched since [the Reagans] moved out,” Janus Cercone from Jaman Properties told The Insider With Yahoo co-host Debbi Matenopoulos. “When we walked around the house we were kind of blown away by all the history. I think the first and most important thing we saved was the bar."

Cecone also salvaged a shower door that can be found in one of the current bathrooms. "On this spot in 1980 on election night, Ronald Reagan was in the shower, Nancy was in the tub, the phone rang and she answered it,” Cecone shared. “She handed it to Mr. Reagan and as the water cascaded around him, he heard Jimmy Carter’s voice saying, ‘Congratulations, you’re President of the United States!’"

The home features a rose garden with blooms named after U.S. presidents and their first ladies, a shoe closet, a pool, a sauna, a 500-square-foot master bedroom, and the best views around.
