Pearl Jam have unveiled “Running,” the second single from their upcoming album, Dark Matter. The hard-charging rocker follows the release of the album’s title track (which we named Song of the Week). Dark Matter, the album, arrives in full on April 19th via Monkeywrench / Republic Records.
Additionally, Pearl Jam have announced a one-night-only “global theatrical experience” celebrating the release of Dark Matter. Taking place on April 16th in 225 theaters in the US and an additional 300 locations in 30 countries worldwide, “Dark Matter in the Dark” will feature two playbacks of the album, first in a dark cinema with just the music playing and then a second time experiencing the record with added visuals on screen during playback. The audio will also be presented in Dolby Atmos where available. Tickets are now available for purchase.
Finally, Pearl Jam have a number of different vinyl variants of Dark Matter that will be available in record stores both in the US and internationally. Among them is a “red and black” vinyl pressing available for members of Pearl Jam’s Ten Club and and a “yellow and black ghostly” vinyl pressing available on Record Store Day.
Starting in May, Pearl Jam will embark on a lengthy tour in support of Dark Matter, including dates in North America, the UK, Europe, and Australia. Get tickets here.
