'Pearl Harbor' honest trailer revisits Michael Bay's 'fan fiction version of history'

Days before Michael Bay’s latest drama 13 Hours hits theaters, Honest Trailers has arrived to remind viewers of Bay’s last Oscar-winning historical film, Pearl Harbor.

The latest honest trailer looks back at “a Michael Bay fan fiction version of history that’s more American than two soldiers donating blood into a Coke bottle,” including the film’s focus on its love triangle and absence of some of the actual Pearl Harbor Day heroes.

From the film’s genuinely impressive action to its ability to “manage to offend both U.S. and Japanese veterans,” the Screen Junkies team leaves no aspect of the film untouched, including its Oscar for Sound Design win.

Watch the new honest trailer above to hear more about the film’s “stupid, campy, made-up love triangle and a bunch of wacky slapstick comedy.” 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi opens on Jan. 15.
