Paula Patton’s Dec. 5 birthday was made even more special by a performance from son Julian, whom she shares with ex-husband, Robin Thicke.

The Baggage Claim actress took to Instagram Wednesday (Dec. 6) with a clip of the 13-year-old leading a youth chorus in a new rendition of “Lean On Me.”

“This was the best birthday gift ever,” the actress captioned the clip of the uniformed choir, followed by gift and heart emojis.

Julian is already becoming a stage star, as Patton previously congratulated her baby boy on landing a role in the SpongeBob SquarePants musical.

“I’m so proud of you my bright shining star…Patrick Star in The SpongeBob Musical!,” she captioned the clip.

Patton and Thicke welcomed Julian in 2010 after meeting in their mid-teens and tying the knot in June 2005. The pair separated on February 24, 2014, with Patton alleging infidelity, physical abuse and drug abuse on Thicke’s part as reasons for the split. The “Blurred Lines” artist denied all accusations.

Their divorce was finalized in March 2015.
