Apologies, but we have unfortunate news — Paul Wesley doesn't ever want to play another vampire, like, ever again.

Paul played Stefan Salvatore, one-half of a brooding vampire brother duo on the CW series, The Vampire Diaries, that concluded its run in 2017. He played the good guy that sometimes turned bad, but was ultimately good, alongside Ian Somerhalder's Damon Salvatore, and Nina Dobrev as their love interest.

"Eight years is a long time, and I'm so glad to put that to rest," Paul told InStyle. "Eight seasons. But I loved how dynamic he was," he added. "I liked the challenge of trying to keep the character fresh."

Even though Paul’s not opposed to working together again with the team, he admitted that “I would never do another vampire anything, period, let alone Vampire Diaries.

While hearts break regarding his “hard pass” on his role reprisal stance, the ex-Vampire Diaries star has continued to eye future projects with the cast and crew.

Paul is currently working on an “undisclosed project” with The Vampire Diaries creator Julie Plec, and he’s also created a bourbon brand with his on-screen brother, Ian, called Brother’s Bond.

Since The Vampire Diaries, Paul has starred as Captain Kirk on Paramount+'s Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, which kickstarted its second season in June.

“One of the things that excited me about the role of Captain Kirk was the fact that it's such a popular, arguably one of the most, influential characters in the history of television," Paul said. “I jumped at this role because it allows me to be something other than Stefan in a big way.”
