“One hundred percent,” Emmy winner Paul Walter Hauser said backstage Monday, he’s totally open to do a Calvin Klein underwear ad like Jeremy Allen White’s.

“I think I got some work to do before I get that phone call, but you know me, I’m not afraid of a challenge,” the Black Bird winner added.

A reporter asked Hauser why he gave a shout-out to Matt Cardona during his acceptance speech but not Jeremy Allen White during his acceptance speech. The answer morphed into a wrestling promo: Slash Film says that Cardona is an indie wrestler, and that Hauser is scheduled to face him in the ring on March 16 at Wrestling Revolver’s “Ready or Not” show in Clive, Iowa.

As far as why Hauser didn’t name-check White; the actor says, “Because he’s a wrestler in Iron Claw. Gosh, I wouldn’t want to get in a brawl with Jeremy Allen White, mostly because of his rabid fan base: They love The Bear, but they’re also in it for the Calvin Klein, I’m told. I don’t want them coming after me.”

Hauser tonight won his first Primetime Emmy in the Limited Series or Movie Best Supporting Actor category for playing serial killer Larry Hall in the Apple TV+ limited series Black Bird.

White at the Golden Globes talked about his Calvin Klein ad coinciding with his win.

“This is strange — I promise — um, uh, I don’t know,” he said. “It’s been a weird couple of days. It is bizarre doing a Calvin Klein ad, and now even more bizarre having it come out, but everything feels OK for now.”
