Paul Reubens, also known as Pee Wee Herman, has passed away.

In a statement, Reubens’ family noted that the popular actor had been battling cancer prior to his passing at the age of 70.

WWE issued a statement after the news of Reubens’ passing became public. The company recalled the times Reuben brought his iconic Pee Wee Herman character to WWE TV. He appeared on the November 1, 2010, episode of WWE RAW. Reubens won a Slammy Award for Guest Star Shining Moment of the Year.

He later appeared at WWE WrestleMania 27 during a segment with The Rock and “Mean” Gene Okerlund. During the segment, he admitted to being John Cena’s number one fan.

On behalf of WrestleZone, we extend our condolences to Reubens’ family, friends, and fans.
