Paul Reiser co-wrote and stars in the new movie 'The Problem with People'

Paul Reiser goes to battle with a distant relative in his latest movie.

PEOPLE has the exclusive first trailer for Reiser's The Problem with People ahead of its world premiere at the Austin Film Festival Saturday.

In the comedy, Reiser, 67, who also co-wrote it, plays Barry, an American man whose long-lost Irish cousin Ciáran (Colm Meaney) invites him to visit their family in Ireland. Ciáran makes this ask at the behest of his elderly father, who wishes to reunite their extended family that moved to the U.S. decades before.

When Barry arrives in Ireland, he is greeted happily by his extended family — until Ciáran's father dies unexpectedly and it's revealed he left property in Ireland to Barry and his family.

Tensions rise as Barry finds out and determines to build a home near Ciáran's, giving way to a family rivalry that gets out of hand.
