Paul Mescal, Daisy Edgar-Jones, and Solange Had the Most Rom-Com Moment at the Gucci Show

Normal People stars Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar-Jones look like they forgot that filming for Hulu’s hit show wrapped in 2019 in this cute new video that has quickly gone viral.

The duo, who starred as Connell and Marianne in the wildly successful adaptation of Sally Rooney’s novel of the same name, were caught exchanging glances while sitting in the same front row at the Gucci cruise 2025 show at the Tate Modern in London on May 13. It’s a classic case of a missed connection: Mescal looks at her, she catches him looking away, he looks back just as she’s turned her attention elsewhere.… Mescal laughs sheepishly when they finally acknowledge each other, and it’s cute and flirty and aren’t they just adorable silly, goofy sweeties!

But that’s not even the best part of the seven-second clip. That would be Solange, seated to Mescal’s right, who is just minding her business, either blissfully unaware of the adorable moment she’s been caught in the middle of, or doing her darndest not to get in the way.

Fans had a field day over the video, relating heavily to both Mescal and Solange. (And lest we start any rumors, I’d like to point out that Edgar-Jones is rumored to be in a relationship with someone who is not Mescal.)

It wasn’t all stolen glances, though. The platonic pair did hang out after the show, along with Mescal’s All of Us Strangers costar Andrew Scott.

Sitting to Mescal’s left on the front row was Salma Hayek and her husband, Francois-Henri Pinault, the CEO of Gucci’s parent company, Kering. While no videos of his exchange with the couple have cropped up on social media (yet), based on these photos, it’s safe to say it was equally as wholesome.

Hayek-Mescal buddy comedy, when?? The accents alone might just kill me.

All of this is to say, Paul Mescal, Daisy Edgar-Jones, Solange, and Salma Hayek should be invited to any and all fashion shows from here on out. If only for the bit.
