PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Beloved Hollywood actor Paul Giamatti was spotted perusing the Purple Room at Powell’s Books on Thursday.
Giamatti was seen exploring the popular Portland bookstore with Columbia College Chicago Philosophy Professor Stephen Asma. The pair host a history podcast together called Paul Giamatti’s CHINWAG with Stephen Asma.

It’s no surprise that Giamatti and Asma are in town. They’re scheduled to perform a live podcast at Revolution Hall at 8 p.m. Thursday night, and it appears that there are still tickets available. Powell’s shared a special promo code online for those interested in attending the show.
“Fun for us,” Powell’s shared on social media. “They shopped the Rare Book Room and geeked out on Sci Fi! And three lucky people won free tickets to the live Chinwag show tonight. Fun for them!”
