Paul Feig Directing Female Engineer Comedy ‘Turned On’ for Fox

“Ghostbusters” director Paul Feig has come on board to helm female engineer movie comedy “Turned On” for Fox.

The studio has picked up a script by Charlie Kesslering, an assistant to host James Corden on “The Late Late Show With James Corden.” He’s a former CAA assistant.

The script centers on a socially awkward engineer who creates an android to fill in for her. The scheme backfires when robot becomes self-actualized.

Jessie Henderson, co-president of Feigco Entertainment, will also produce. Dan Magnante will oversee the project for the company.

Feigco is based at Fox. His directing credits include “Unaccompanied Minors,” “Bridesmaids,” “Spy,” “The Heat” and the untitled mother-daughter comedy starring Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn, which Fox will release May 12, 2017.

Feig also was a producer on “The Peanuts Movie” for Fox. He created the comedy series “Freaks and Geeks” along with directed episodes of “The Office” and “Arrested Development.”

He’s repped by CAA. Kesslering is repped by CAA and Mosaic.
