Paul Feig is skipping ahead from Last Christmas right to Halloween. The Spy and Ghostbusters: Answer the Call filmmaker is developing Dark Army, a new movie set to feature Universal’s classic monsters.

As Deadline reports, not much is known about the mysterious project. All we have is that Feig is signed to write and direct the film, which is expected to incorporate characters from Universal’s legacy of horror properties as well as newly created ones.

Dark Army is the latest movie to enter development since the studio abandoned their plans for the interconnected, superstar-driven Dark Universe series. After Tom Cruise’s The Mummy tanked, the studio killed planned productions like Johnny Depp’s Invisible Man and Javier Badem’s Frankenstein. They chose instead to focus on creator-focused reinterpretations, the first of which will be Blumhouse and Leigh Whannell’s Invisible Man starring Elisabeth Moss. Whatever Feig’s Dark Army ends up being, it’s slated to be the next project under the revised directive.

Feig’s most recent film was last fall’s A Simple Favor. His next feature, a rom-com called Last Christmas with Game of Thrones actress Emilia Clarke, is out November 8th.
