Paul Chryst: WRs Jazz Peavy and George Rushing not with team
Wisconsin wide receiver Jazz Peavy hasn’t played in Wisconsin’s last five games because of right leg injury. He’s now off the injury report, but Wisconsin coach Paul Chryst said Thursday that Peavy was not with the team due to personal reasons.
Peavy and fellow wide receiver George Rushing, who is also not with the team, will both participate in senior day activities before Saturday’s game with Michigan.
“Right now, for different reasons, they are not with the team right now,” Chryst said via the Wisconsin State Journal. “There’s a lot going on in these guys’ lives. All that matters is they’re doing all right, and kind of decided for both to kind of help them navigate everything, to be able to take some time away from football.”
Peavy had just five catches and three carries in five games in 2016. He was an integral figure in the Badgers’ offense in 2016, tallying 43 catches for 635 yards and rushing 21 times for 318 yards. He scored six total touchdowns.
Rushing had 12 catches for 136 yards in 2016. He hasn’t played at all in 2017.
