The New England Patriots and Carolina Panthers brawled for the second time Wednesday, a day after a pair of fights resulting in five players being kicked out of the first joint practice.

Wednesday’s incidents including one in which a female fan was struck after a scrum spilled into the spectator area, nearly brought an end to Wednesday’s practice session.

“Number one, my thoughts are with the woman that was hurt over there. I’m hoping that she’s OK,” Panthers coach Matt Rhule said after practice. “I don’t have any update on her, but I’m hoping she’s OK.”

Video shared on Twitter by AWLSabermetrics showed dozens of Patriots and Panthers players pushing and shoving on the sideline in front of the bleachers as thousands of fans looked on.

In the video, one fan could be heard yelling, “Oh! We got another one!”

The fight broke out when Patriots defensive lineman Deatrich Wise made contact with Panthers star running back Christian McCaffrey “at or over the boundary and hit him pretty good,” Patriots insider Tom E. Curran reported.

McCaffrey got up, spiked the ball at Wise, and a host of Panthers then drove Wise into the bleachers, according to Curran. Wise’s helmet then struck the foot of a fan, who refused medical attention.

The two sides fought on Tuesday as well after Patriots wide receiver Kristian Wilkerson was reportedly pushed by a member of the Carolina coaching staff.

Friday night’s preseason game kicks off at 7 p.m. New England lost their first preseason game to the New York Giants last week, 23-21.

The Patriots begin the regular season in Miami on Sept. 11.
