Exoticon Chesapeake

Saturday, May 25 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Chesapeake Conference Center

Bodacious Bazaar

May 23-26 at the Scope Arena Complex in Downtown Norfolk

HRPride Brew Tour Launch Party

May 25 from 2-6 p.m. at Elation Brewing

Hampton Roads Pride and Elation Brewing are presenting the launch party to kickoff a partnership between the organization and local breweries. Fushia DeVille is hosting the party with performances by Drag Goddesses Naomi Black and Jasleane Jade. Listen to live music for NOT THOSE GIRLS, enjoy brews, tasty food and a drag show. Umoja Festival

May 24-26 at Festival Park at Atlantic Union Bank Pavilion

The 32nd Annual Umoja Festival is this weekend. It’s the City of Portsmouth’s annual celebration of diversity, unity and African-American culture. Watch live performances including a lineup of national acts of jazz, reggae, gospel and rhythm and blues. The event is free and open to the public. Click here to find out more.

Saturday Cinema: Space Jam

Saturday, May 25 at 6:15 p.m., movie begins at 8:15 p.m. at Bennett’s Creek Park

Suffolk Parks and Recreation present Saturday Cinema. This Saturday watch Space Jam at 8:15 p.m. at Bennett’s Creek Park. The fun begins at 6:15 p.m. before the showing. There will be a bounce house, petting zoo, craft tent and more. Admission is free. Food and vendor items will be available for purchase at the event. Adults must accompany children at the cinema show.

Salute to Summer

May 24-26 at 17th and 24th Street Parks at 7-11 p.m. at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront

It’s the Memorial Day Weekend Salute to Summer at the Oceanfront. Enjoy free concerts all weekend long. Bands include: Anthony Rosano & The Conqueroos, Strictly Bizzness and the TFC Band, School of Rock, Girl Can’t Help It, 5Starr, The Deloreans, WOAH! and The Deloreans and WOAH!

15th Annual Virginia Beach Surf Art Expo

May 25-27 at 3rd-7th Streets at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront

Visit the Oceanfront and take a look at over 70 surf art and fine craft artisans on the boardwalk. There will be regional, local and national artists. Kick off the summer season with beach themes in a variety of mediums from painting, photography, jewelry, clay and more.

The event will be held in conjunction with the surfing competition right at the Oceanfront. Watch longboarders compete at the 21st Annual Coastal Edge Steel Pier Classic will also be taking place nearby at the 1st street Jetty.

Mount Trashmore Summer Carnival

Starts Friday, May 24 at Mount Trashmore Park, continues throughout the season. Click here for exact dates.

Rides, games and fun are back this summer at Mount Trashmore Park. Tickets are required. Beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday evenings, children under the age of 18 are required to have an adult 21 or over accompanying them in the carnival (IDs will be required).

On Monday, May 27 there will be Military Appreciation day with $18 wristbands offered for all active duty and retired military personnel as well as their dependents. You must have a military ID for the promotion. Click here to find out more.
