Taylor Swift’s presence in the bleachers — or rather, the luxury suite — to support Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce was the talk of social media over the weekend, and even quarterback Patrick Mahomes was part of the conversation.
Swift attended the team’s game against the Chicago Bears at Kansas City’s Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday, with Fox’s cameras cutting to the singer frequently during the broadcast. Her visit followed media reports of a budding romance between herself and tight end Kelce, whose own third-quarter touchdown helped his team wallop the opposing squad 41-10.

After the game, Mahomes was asked during a press conference about Swift’s presence. “She’s a tremendous singer, tremendous at everything she does,” the reigning NFL MVP told reporters. “I haven’t got to meet her, but I guess if she ends up being with Travis, then I’ll probably get to meet her at some point. Seems like a good person, so hopefully I get to meet her one day.”
Mahomes explained that he only learned recently that Swift would attend the game for the Chiefs, who won Super Bowl LVII in February and currently sit atop the AFC West with a record of 2-1.

“He told me at the last minute, but there’s some things with Trav where he just says it, and you don’t know if it’s true or not,” Mahomes quipped. “Friday, he was like, ‘Yeah, I think she’s coming to the game this weekend,’ and then moved about his business. So you’re kinda like, that just happens, I guess. I don’t know — it’s just Travis.”
During an on-field interview with Erin Andrews, the quarterback addressed whether he felt pressure to get Kelce the ball in front of the famous fan. “I heard she was in the house. I felt a little bit of pressure, and so I knew I had to get it to Trav,” Mahomes replied. “I think he wanted to get into the end zone just as much as all the Swifites wanted him to.”

Kelce and Swift did not publicly address their relationship status following the game, although footage of the pair exiting the stadium together made the rounds on social media. The music star typically keeps developments in her personal life close to the vest.
This is a busy stretch for Swift, who is currently enjoying some downtime from her hugely successful Eras Tour before it picks up again in South America in November. A concert film featuring the tour will hit theaters next month and is tracking for a colossal opening weekend.
Meanwhile, Kelce starred on E! dating series Catching Kelce, which aired in 2016, and he hosted Saturday Night Live earlier this year.
